Memory Care Volunteering
Memory care volunteering is calm, staff-supervised time with residents living with dementia or other memory needs. InterGen Volunteer helps you find those roles at senior living communities that post them — including assisted living and retirement campuses with memory care neighborhoods.
A different pace, the same product
Memory care is still senior living. Volunteers may sit, listen, sing, fold towels for an activity, or join a small group that staff lead. You do not diagnose, redirect medical care, or work unsupervised with residents.
Communities will brief you on communication: short sentences, patience, and not arguing with a memory. InterGen Volunteer is how those communities post the opportunity and review who applies.
Who should apply
People who can be consistent and unhurried. Students may be welcome where the community allows minors and a parent or guardian consents. You do not need a clinical background. You do need to follow the building’s rules.
